The Ipswich Art Gallery has a rich history that dates back to 1951 when it first opened in the Town Hall. Over the years, it has evolved and grown into a professional art space, thanks to the relocation to St Paul’s Young Men’s Hall in 1980 and the appointment of its first Gallery Director in 1985. Today, the Gallery has found a permanent home in the restored old Town Hall, which was made possible by the generous donations of the Ipswich Arts Foundation.
